Formed in 1976 as a member of a small flat roofing group based in East Anglia. The then Directors including Steve Laycock (current M.D.) broke away in the early 1980's to form Pro-Flat Roofing Co. Ltd. Joined in 1984 by Nick Thurlow (Director and Company Secretary) the company enjoyed organic growth through the best part of the next decade.
In 1993 Chris Fordham (Scaffolding Director) and Ron Horton (Scaffold Supervisor) joined the company to form a scaffolding division, rapidly establishing a reliable, quality service in the region. We have grown substantially since then, winning and carrying out many prestigious contracts including 'The West Front' of the Abbey Bury St. Edmunds.
In 1998, because of the company's desire to diversify, we became Pro-Flat Specialist Services Ltd and quickly expanded yet again into Hard – Soft Landscaping, again establishing a reliable quality service. After many successful years and due to further expansion plans, the Landscape Division was sold to the management and a new chapter opened.
In 2004 – 2005 Pro-Flat Group (as we are now known) purchased land on Eastern Way Bury St. Edmunds and built its own warehouse and office complex with generous yard facilities befitting a professional multi-talent services company ready for the challenges of the 21st century.
